Bill Love and Ron Dodson Join Forces to Create Sustainable Golf Developments

College Park, Maryland (PRWEB) July 25, 2008 -- Bill Love, President of W.R. Love, Inc., and Ron Dodson, President of the International Sustainability Council and founder of Audubon International have joined forces to create Sustainable Golf Developments, a firm focused on the design and planning of sustainable golf course community development projects. Bill and Ron also serve on the Audubon Lifestyles Advisory Group as advisors for golf and sustainability.

Bill Love has over twenty-five years experience in the practice of golf course architecture, site planning for recreational facilities and land planning for golf-related development. He has been involved in over 200 projects, including the design and development of new golf courses and golf communities, as well as master planning and renovation of existing golf facilities. Love is a Past-President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and presently serves as the Chairman of the Society's Environmental Committee, a post he has held for over 18 years. Through this position he authored in the ASGCA publication An Environmental Approach to Golf Course Development.

In addition to being President of the International Sustainability Council, Ron Dodson has served as President of Audubon International for over 20 years. As President of AI, Dodson created the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program and the Signature Program for golf courses, the Audubon Sustainable Communities Program, and is author of Sustainable Golf Courses and Wildlife Habitat Management for Golf Courses, published by Wiley and Sons Company. Through these programs and publications Dodson has advised on the environmental aspects of golf course design and management to nearly 200 new course development projects and over 1,000 existing courses that are striving for AI certification.

"With recent transition efforts underway at Audubon International in regard to moving from a full-time to a part-time position that is focused on a limited number of responsibilities, the time was right to become more proactively involved in actual course planning and design efforts," said Dodson. "I've worked with and around many golf course architects and development companies over the past 20 plus years, and Bill Love and I are clearly on the same page regarding the role that properly sited, designed and managed golf facilities can play in regard to sustainable community development. We expect to be involved in a select number of projects that will truly set the bar for sustainable golf course design and management," concluded Dodson.
